Im glad hydroid is getting a rework, but i feel like this is just making him more usefull without making him more enjoyable. I feel like his tentacles and cc were a huge part of his kit and the passive, although it was pretty useless, was at least a good idea. His 1 no longer interferes with your gameplay, his 2 is basically Rolling Guard without a mod slot, his 3 is a nice damage buff that makes all enemy armor a non-issue and adds player armor at a good rate, and his 4 no longer makes enemies impossible to shoot.

As a ex hydroid main (that still plays him occasionally) i think he needs a complete rework overhal. The only ability I think should stay are his 3, wich should be merged with his 2 and given the grendel treatment (does more damage per second, cant grab a ton of enemies and has better movement. Dashing makes activates his current 2).

Warframe is a hit-and-run fast paced looter shooter, not a slow-paced tactical shooter. Removing these charge mechanics is 100% necessary if Hydroid is improve. Personally my idea for a rework to the ability would be to make it an AOE rainstorm that surrounds Hydroid and debuffs enemies within it's range. Now a 33% movement & reload speed buff.

That's a good point. Even though Hydroid does improve with this rework in some ways, he won't be able to compete with the other armor strip frames. Armor strip works even on eximus enemies for the other warframes. Hydroid's corrosive stacks likely cannot armor strip an eximus though since his stacks should be blocked by the enemy's overguard.The centerpiece of this rework is Hydroid's new passive that harks back to his pirate theme.
